McCourty was named Top Performer at the 2010 NFL Combine in Broad Jump, 40yd dash, 20yd shuttle and 3 Cone Drill. Add that to great film and you have a 1st round pick.

IGNITION sets up shop at 2010 NFL Combine

Clif Marshall, Program Director of Ignition, along with his colleague Ted Borgerding, setup a small IGNITION shop inside the Omni Hotel in downtown Indianapolis during the 2010 NFL Combine. Alongside IGNITION’s staff, Andy Shetterly of Peak Performance Physical Therapy was on hand to stretch, massage, and perform therapy on the nine IGNITION Combine Athletes.

IGNITION wanted to open up this room for their athletes in order for them to have a place to focus, mentally and physical prepare for the Combine Testing, as well as provide them with the proper nutrition over the weekend. Players were able to retreat in this room as it was directly across from the Lucas Oil Stadium where the NFL Combine took place. Along with players, EASTBAY and other media outlets were able to conduct interviews, NIKE and other apparel companies were close by, and visitors were able to convene in this same area.

FOUR ATHLETES REPRESENT IGNITION AT UNDER ARMOUR SENIOR BOWL

Four Ignition NFL Combine Trainees were honored as they were chosen for the Under Armour Senior Bowl Game that was played on January 30th. John Conner, UK FB, Mardy Gilyard, UC WR, Devin McCourty, Rutgers DB, and Dorin Dickerson, PITT WR, had outstanding showings which in return will be measured on the final weekend in April.

The Under Armour Senior Bowl was played in Mobile, Alabama and players are selected by NFL Scouts and Coaches. These players practice the week prior leading up to Saturday's game - all in which during this short period of time have to learn an NFL offense / defense, take on intense personal interviews by all 32 NFL Teams, attend public media days and autograph sessions, and full-contact practices.

Many of the Senior Bowl contestants will be a part of the 2010 NFL Draft Class. John Conner of UK says, "it was a very memorable experience to play alongside with previous rivals or future NFL stars." Congrats to John Conner, Mardy Gilyard, Devin McCourty, and Dorin Dickerson.

BUFFALO BILL, BRIAN BROHM, VISITS IGNITIONFLORIDA

Former UofL Quarterback and 2nd round draft pick in 2007, Brian Brohm, visits IGNITIONFlorida. Brohm, current backup QB for the Buffalo Bills has spent this week working out as well as mentoring the 2010 Ignition trainees in Naples before making his way down to Miami for the Super Bowl. Brohm trained with Clif Marshall at IgnitionOHIO prior to the 2007 NFL Combine and NFL Draft. The current Buffalo Bill says, "I will continue to work with Clif and seek his advice as I move through my professional career - I trust his program."

Ignition is prepping some of the finest athletes in the country to be at their best on the last week of February at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

One part of the program that is taken seriously is the strong commitment to train not only the body but the mind and the spirit. The way this is incorporated is through character building sessions that include Bible Studies and prayer time before and after workouts. In addition to this, athletes also hear testimonials from active and retired NFL veterans on life choices and decisions.

The goal is not only to be strong physically but also spiritually while training over the 8 week program. Although athletes aren't required to attend these character building sessions, attendance over the program duration has been over 75%. Athletes don't have to be spiritual to be a part of the Ignition program, but the foundations of our program our built on Godly principles such as loyalty, honor, and respect. Former top round draft pick and University of Kentucky quarterback, Tim Couch, made a trip to Naples, Florida. Couch met the prospects in training and spoke about his experience as a rookie in the National Football League. His discussions with the Ignition athletes included the NFL Agent process, his training experience, handling finances wisely, as well as the struggles that the players will possibly face early in their pro career. Ignition athletes were entertained by the once "pride of the University of Kentucky." Former UC standout, Mardy Gillyard, even caught a couple of passes from Couch.

TEAMMATES CHOOSE IGNITION FOR NFL PREP TRAINING

IGNITION TAKES PERFORMANCE PROGRAM ON THE ROAD IN 2010.......

Look for the Ignition travel trailer on the road in 2010. The equipment in the 16 foot trailer carries the tools that will help athletes across the country become faster, stronger, and better. Performance Director, Clif Marshall, traveled this week to Naples, Florida and will use it to help run the IgnitionFlorida NFL Combine Training Program. In addition to using the trailer in Florida, the Ignition staff will utilize it for the 2010 Summer Performance Camp Tour coming to a high school near you.

IGNITION HEADS TO SOUTHWEST FLORIDA

Ignition will head to Southwest Florida this winter to hold a program for some of the nations top NFL prospects, prepping for the NFL Combine and Pro Days. Over the last three years, Ignition has had one of the most successful NFL Combine prep programs in the country. That program, will be titled IGNITIONOHIO and will be ran by Coach Ted Borgerding. IGNITIONOHIO, has one of the nicest facilities in the Midwest and is home to one of largest indoor turf fields in all of North America.

Clif Marshall will be the Head Coach for the IGNITIONFLORIDA program, that will run in the Southwest part of the state. The facility is truly one of the finest in the country. The 200 acre park has eight Bermuda grass fields under the lights, six baseball diamonds, water park, a basketball gymnasium, rubberized track, convention center and state of the art fitness center. Five Time Pro Bowler Roy Williams stays local to train at Ignition!

Bengals safety Roy Williams has five NFL Pro Bowls under his belt, but you wouldn’t know it. He is as humble as they come and he has been working hard each day as he prepares for his first season as a Cincinnati Bengal.
The Head Strength Coach for the Bengals Chip Morton encouraged Roy to stay in town in July to work on his fitness. Roy’s goals was to drop some bodyfat and to get in the best playing shape as possible We are very fortunate to have Roy in the Ignition facility. Roy has been a great role model for the entire Ignition family this summer. He is very open about his Christian faith and often times leads prayer after workouts. He can also be seen picking up trash or cleaning up the weight room after workouts.

Here is what Roy has to say about the program at Ignition:

"I had the opportunity to workout anywhere, but I chose to stay in town for my off season training with Clif Marshall. I really like the vibe and the energy that I got from Clif when I trained at Ignition. Andre Frazier holds camp in Cincinnati Area

The Ignition staff spent some time with current Pittsburgh Steeler and Super Bowl Champion Andre Frazier at his camp at Hughes High School this week. The camp was free for kids and all in attendance had a great experience. Among the other NFL Starts in attendance for the camp were Roy Williams of the Bengals, Tyjuan Hagler of the Colts and Carey Davis of the Steelers. The UC Football Seniors were also on hand to give some expert instruction.
Andre Frazier has been training at Ignition for the last three off seasons. He exemplifies high character and has a strong Christian faith that often times gets over looked by outsiders. Thanks to Andre for making a difference and for giving back to the community. We wish Andre nothing but the best in 2010.

Ignition Athlete Connor Barwin training with Coach Ben Creamer

Ignition coach Ben Creamer has been training as boxer for 2+ years. His passion for the sport has carried over to the training environment here at Ignition. With Ben's guidance, Ignition has incorporated boxing into the combine program and the athletes have loved every second of it. 2nd Round draft pick Connor Barwin enjoyed the exhausting work so much that he started training exclusively with Ben. Check out the video of Connor showcasing his boxing skills during his last workout before heading to Houston.

Ignition Coach Rick Danison accepts job at Indiana University!

Former Ignition Performance Specialist Rick Danison has accepted a position on the strength staff at Indiana University. Coach Danison who is also a part time strength coach with the Cincinnati Bengals worked at Ignition this spring training athletes in the BURST and TOTAL ELITE as well as helping to prepare athletes for the NFL Combine. We will miss Rick and wish him great success as he continues his coaching career.

The Bengals have found themselves a “freakish athlete” in 3rd Round Pick Michael Johnson. Michael, who was one of the top collegiate players during the 2009 season on the gridiron teamed up with his former Georgia Tech teammate Eric Henderson for a week of intense training for speed, agility, strength and boxing this week at Ignition. Michael shows great athleticism and work ethic and will be exciting to watch as he suits up for the Bengals in 2009. Stay tuned for footage of Michaels workouts on video!
